Welcome to Natterhub
Dear Parents and Carers,
We are excited to introduce a new addition to our school’s Relationships and Health Education provision. As children spend an increased amount of time online, we felt it necessary to take further steps to ensure their online safety and help them navigate the digital world.
Kender Tea Party - Why not come and Join us!!
Next Friday we are hosting a Tea Party. This is an opportunity for you to come into school and meet other parents in your year groups. It will take place in the large playground/large hall and will start immediately after 3.30.
So come and collect your child or children and stay for tea and chat. Posters are up and around the school site. More details to follow and which will include information from our caterers about tasters for the kinds of meals we offer.
We all look forward to seeing you there.
This week I sent a letter to all mums and dads of children in Years five and Six. Children attending any Primary School should not have accounts like TikTok, SnapChat or WhatsApp; all stipulate legal ages for having accounts and all require children to be 13 or over. A copy of the letter is on the school website and gives further advice about ensuring children do not have access to phones, ipads, laptops in their bedrooms at night time.
Birthdays in school

Dear Parents and Carers,
The children in Year 6 have been working with musicians from The Multi-Story Orchestra. They have participated in a number of workshops and now have the opportunity to perform the song they have been rehearsing, ‘Our Future In Your Hands’ with the Multi-Story Orchestra.
Dear Parents,
We have accumulated so much lost property over the past year. Please if you think you are missing any items for your child the lost property will be placed in the school's playground on Friday, 3 September.
Here is this week's newsletter 16th July 2021
We had a lovely walk on Saturday 19th June. The children who took part did incredibly well and walked without any complaints. I recommend this walk to anyone looking for an activity during the weekend and the summer holiday. My favourite part was walking beside the river and stumbling across a lovely place called Cody Dock where we stopped for refreshments. My second favourite part was the journey in the cable car where we had another family join us to travel across the river. Thank you to all the parents, children and staff who took part.
Dear parents
Lewisham is an open borough that celebrates diversity. We have a proud history of standing up to racism and inequalities, from the Battle of Lewisham in 1977 to more recently becoming a Borough of Sanctuary.
Our Local Authority is committed to tackling race inequalities, which includes work in education.
The changes we introduce will create lasting transformation in the lives of the children at Kender. We know that these improvements to our education system will be beneficial to all Lewisham children, irrespective of their background.
We believe that in time, this will filter down into the language used, subjects studied, books that are brought home, conversations that you are having with your child about their school day. It will ultimately result in a more representative curriculum in Lewisham schools which reflects the diverse community we are proud to be part of.
We have been and continue to be determined to improve outcomes by tackling racial inequality in education. Governors approved the attached Race Equality pledge on 24 March 2021 and Kender Primary School is fully committed to supporting Lewisham Learning.
