Dear mums, dads and carers
As the weather now looks as if it will be even hotter than predicted last week, we have gone through a revised risk assessment with our H&S adviser as the temperature now looks as if it will exceed 34° for the next few days.
I’m writing to let you know our updated arrangements:
- Children should wear their PE kit or loose summer uniform: this applies particularly to Y6
- Children should all have a cap/hat
- No jumpers, cardigans or fleeces to be brought into school
- Please apply high SPF factor sun protection before your child comes to school
- Please make sure that your child has a water bottle. There is always water available in the classrooms if they need their bottle to be topped up but this is not chilled
- Children will be encouraged to drink water regularly
- Y3 will move to air conditioned rooms in the afternoons: the multipurpose room and the big hall. Unfortunately, these cannot be set up as classrooms so the children will watch films instead each afternoon.
- Reception, Y1 and Y2 will all close each afternoon tomorrow-Friday
- Reception must be collected from the main entrance on Kender Street at 1:00
- Y1 must be collected from the main entrance at 1:10
- Y2 must be collected from the main entrance at 1:20
- Y3 can be collected from 1:30 from tomorrow – Friday: please inform us beforehand if you plan to collect your child so that we can ensure that they are ready for collection
- Reception sports day will not be held tomorrow afternoon: date to be confirmed
- Nursery fun morning on Wednesday will also be rearranged: date to be confirmed
- Y2 trip on Thursday will be cancelled
- All afterschool clubs except Lego club will be cancelled this week
- We are checking the arrangements for the trip for Y4 on Thursday and will confirm tomorrow whether or not we are happy to go ahead
Thank you for your support.
