A warm welcome back to all our families. It has been an amazing start to the children coming back to school. It was lovely to see so many smiling faces, children and parents, and staff have been saying that the sound of laughter and the buzz across the school has been great. Our thanks to you for bringing children in on time and ready for their school day.
Please check the web-site for the Above and Beyond certificate to parents for your support, patience and commitment to the remote learning in place during the lockdown. We really appreciate you.
We continue a high focus on keeping the children and staff safe and thank those parents who have helped us with this by wearing a face covering when collecting children, it is really important that we adhere to the safety measures put in place. Staff have been handing out face masks to adults who do not have one. If you are exempt from wearing a face covering please come into reception so we can register this. Thank you.
A gentle reminder. Please follow the one-way system in place when collecting children at the end of the day. Thank you.
ZONES of Regulation
To help the children settle back into school we have adopted the Zones of Regulation curriculum, a social and emotional learning curriculum. Through the programme children are taught to recognise how they are feeling and given useful strategies or tools to help them regulate their emotions, which in turn leads to increased self-control and problem-solving abilities. We aim for children to be in the green zone as much as possible, as this ensures they are ready for being in school able to negotiate learning and the social aspects of the day. Please check the web-site for more information.
Year two celebrated the end of their topic for the Great Fire of London by burning the model’s children had made during their time at home. Teachers were really impressed with the models children built and would like to thank parents and older siblings for helping to create such a wonderful display.
It has been a really good week and the children have settled well. Thank you for helping this to happen and we look forward to next week.
