So many children dressed in yellow and spots. Also, so many items brought in for our school hampers. We are working with Friends of Kender to think about how to make and distribute these hampers. It is a year in which some families have found times harder than others and it is a time for us to consider the wider needs of our own local community.
Thank you again, your generosity is amazing. If you have yet to send in an item please do not hesitate the boxes can be added to over the next few weeks.
School Development Staff Twilight:
On Wednesday, all the staff met after school from 4pm-6pm to spend time discussing our School Development Plan for 2020 onwards. It gave us the opportunity to look at the positive aspects of 2019/20, before COVID-19, time to reflect on our practice within the new context and discuss how we will build on what has been accomplished to date. It was a very productive evening and has provided a starting point for reviewing our School Development Plan and vision. One priority will be writing; developing our children's enjoyment of writing and how this will progress across the school. We will be speaking to children about this to get their ideas and would also like to have views from parents, please watch out for the parent survey. The Senior Leadership Team would like to thank all staff for remaining after school and engaged with the task at hand especially after the end of a long day.
Please remember to call the school on the first day if your child will be absent. If they are ill for more than two days, you will also need to call again to give us an update and will have to provide medical evidence. When calling the school please leave messages on option 2 only, and please speak clearly leaving the child's full name, class, and reason for their absence. Any absence without a reason is recorded as unauthorised. Please also note unauthorised absence is also recorded for children who arrive late after the register has closed at 09.15am.
Attendance is regularly monitored by the Local Authority's Education Welfare Officer, who will ask to meet with parents where there are continued concerns with poor attendance or punctuality.

We have a book of condolence and should you wish to write a message, it will be in the school office all of next week.
We hope you are all able to keep yourselves safe and well during this difficult time. There is some optimism for next year and we are working hard in school to make sure that when we are out of these difficult time school will be ready flourish again.
In the meantime I hope you can find ways of making lockdown as enjoyable as possible and enjoy spending time within your family bubbles.
Best wishes and thank you for your continued support.
