It has been another really good week in school. Lots of amazing art work has been completed by so many of the children. Much of this work will be in display around the school. We are ensuring the school looks amazing for the children even through we are not allowed to invite parents and others visitors into the school.
Next week I will be making a short film of a school tour. This is for parents who are considering selecting Kender for their child to attend from next September. However, you are all welcome to watch it and see how great the school looks for the children in school. I will send a link via this newsletter.
Governing Body meeting
Governors held their first meeting of the academic year on Wednesday. I shared my perspectives on how well school has adopted to the new normal for all of us who are deliver learning for the children. We are pleased with the start we have made to school, yet further changes are being made to ensure all classes remain in school and all staff are kept safe and free to teach the children. I have no more idea than all of you about when schools will return to how they once were, if they ever do. What we are working hard to achieve is that all children are safe in school, enjoying and making progress with their learning and that we minimise the risk of transmission of Covid-19.
If we can achieve this there will be a much stronger chance of children remaining in school and making good progress across all subjects.
Also from the meeting on Wednesday, I am pleased to announce there will be a new Chair and vice Chair of the board for this school year.
Chair of the Governing Body: Paul Kuczynski
Vice-Chair of the Governing Body: Mhairi Littlewood
You will also see on the school website a news item about the search for another Parent Governor. Mums and dads please step forward should you wish to further support the work of the school. I am available via the telephone or email should you need further information about the role and what it entails.
Nominations close next Friday, the 9th October. Come and join our informed and supportive group of governors.
Any updates from Secondary schools concerning their open evenings will be added to our website. Please keep checking our site for the latest information. Mr Vinnicombe has sent a letter to all parents of children in Year 6 offering appointments to go through their secondary transfer forms; please complete the slip on this letter and return it to school asap.
Please ensure your child has a PE Kit in school on Monday and brings it home for washing on Friday. Children will need tracksuit trousers and a jumper as the weather gets colder.
This will be taking place on Thursday 22nd October. I must remind you to complete the consent form which was sent home with your child on Wednesday. All parents must fill in the form and return it to us even if you do not want your child to have a vaccination.
