All continues to be well at Kender. We have been open all this week for children of Key Workers. There have been between 9 and 14 children. All of the children are getting on very well and have had some nice times engaging in learning tasks.
I hope you are all staying well and keeping safe at home. We are thinking about you all during this time and wish you all the very best.
I have filmed a short video which can be found on the school website on the Remote Learning Page. I will film a new one each week and others may appear as time goes on. Ms McCaffrey has produced an Art video which is also on the website. Please do use the site as this has lists and links to all the home learning for the children to be completing.
School closes tomorrow for the Bank Holiday weekend. I will take this time to wish to you a peaceful and relaxing Easter weekend. Not too much chocolate as we can’t ‘run it off’ as we might have done in other years!!
I am aware that there could be families who are struggling to buy food at this time. I wish to draw to your attention a scheme that is operating from Telegraph Hill. The scheme can provide families with weekly food boxes both free and ‘at cost’. The boxes would be delivered to the school for you to collect, most likely on a Tuesday or a Wednesday. If you think this would be of help to you and your family at this time please, please contact Victoria on the number below. The boxes could also be delivered to your homes should you find it difficult to come to the school and collect it.
In order to prepare a box, Vic will need to know how many people are in your family.

Again, I must draw to your attention how to access meal vouchers.
For those of you who are entitled to Meal Vouchers you should have received these. Vouchers for the Easter break have been sent out too. Please get in touch if you are having any issues using these.
Yesterday evening the full Governing Body met. This meeting was postponed in March but re-scheduled and conducted via Zoom. It was productive meeting and there are few messages I’d like to share from Governors:
they send all their very best wishes to families at Kender; Governors appreciate that this is a difficult time for all and send their regards;
Governors also extended their thanks and praise to the staff team who are serving their school community so well at this time;
Last point, all Governors will be working with Senior Leaders to ensure school is ready to re-open just a soon as it is safe to do so.
Please stay inside, help others to remain safe and keep yourselves fit and heathy.
A Message from the Headteacher
Mr Barr has recorded a video message for you all at home. Stay inside, be safe and remain fit and well. Best wishes to you all. Next video message: Thursday 16th April.
