It is unusual that I include children in a newsletter. Most Fridays I have spoken to you in assembly and discussed the week you have just had. I hope you are all well, staying inside and keeping yourselves safe.
We do appreciate that this is a difficult time but please remind your children that the should not be playing outside in public spaces while the country is on lockdown; stay in and stay safe is the message.
All is well at Kender and work continues behind the scenes preparing for when school does re-open.
It is just two weeks since we had to close the school. Again, I hope you are all well and finding plenty of ways to keep busy and make good use of the Home Learning on the school website. There will be regular updates each Friday and occasionally at other times during the week too. Please make use of the suggested timetable to ensure children remain busy and on-track with their learning.
For those of you who are entitled to Meal Vouchers you should have received these. Please get in touch if you are having any issues using these. Vouchers will be made available for the Easter break too and these will be sent out next week. Please do not forget to apply for Free School Meals if you believe you are entitled using the link below:
Each day this week we have remained open for mums or dads who are key workers and have no alternative child care options. It is essential that vital services can keep running at this time and if you think you qualify for a key worker school place please do not hesitate to contact us. Children who do attend school next week are not required to wear school uniform; clothes that are suitable for outdoor PE type actives would be best.
School will be open for the next two weeks too - but not over the Bank Holiday weekend.
We will endeavour to send out a newsletter each week to maintain regular communication with you all. From the news I watch and read, it would seem unlikely that schools will re-open properly before the end of June, and then might not open again until September. This is going to be a long period of isolation. Hopefully the newsletter will provide you with something to read and share together, while including some further links to home learning.
We’d like like to see and hear what you’ve been doing too. Please follow our Twitter account: @KenderSchool . We will follow you if you post tweets and reply where possible. Any pictures of home learning or family activities would be great to see and share.
