Congratulations to Rowan Smith for hosting an Early Years Study day for the John Donne School’s Direct Partnership. Twenty-five visiting teachers spent a day learning about our EFYS practice and seeing for themselves how a ‘centre of excellence’ operates.
Further praise goes to Ms Wootten and Ms Kealey for a fantastic World Book Day yesterday.
Next week, a really busy week in school lies ahead.
On Monday we have 41 visitors to the school to see and learn how Play is managed at Kender school. We are hosting the OPAL Regional Schools Meeting for the South East and then from 11.30 we have Headteachers from other schools coming to learn about how they too can introduce and develop amazing play experiences for the children in their schools.
Then on Wednesday, Headteachers and Senior Leaders from our SSAT partner schools will be coming into school for our annual Peer Review. If you’re wondering what this means please take a look at the report form last year on Our Standards page of the website. The purpose of the review is for school leaders in other schools to challenge leaders here to plan and implement further school improvement.
As well as these things we will be continuing the daily business of teaching and learning for all the children. At the time of writing I am pleased to inform you that our attendance is much improved this week; currently standing at 97.5%. It would be great to end a week with a figure over 98%. Come on, we can do it!
The Kender football teams will be in action tomorrow on Blackheath. Matches start at 10.00am. Come along and support if you can!
Other dates on the horizon:
Friday 15th March – Comic Relief
Tuesday 26thMarch – Parents’ Evening
Thursday 28thMarch – Parents’ Evening
Friday 29thMarch – Literature Festival
Thank you for your continued support and wish you all a relaxing weekend with lots of book reading!
