Swimming: next week we are trialling the block booking of swimming for children in Year Three; each class will be going to Wavelengths in Deptford. If this works and the children enjoy it and make good progress there is an opportunity for this to continue in the Spring and Summer terms.
We have asked some parents to help us with these trips as the children will swimming between 1pm and 2pm next week. If you have offered to help, we thank you very much for your time in assisting us and the children.
This time we have not charged for this activity, however, we will need to in the future.

School Trips: thank you to all mums and dads who have attended school trips. Your support and time is so important to enable us to make these learning opportunities happen.
Collection for Harvest: today we start a collection for harvest. We are asking each family or child to bring in a packet or a tin of food. If you can spare more then your contributions would be much welcomed. Staff have been asked to make donations too.
There is a box outside each year group for these donations.
We will inform you how this collection will be distributed towards the end this half-term.
Open Mornings: The next open morning will be on Tuesday 18th October 2022, 9.15 to 10.30. Tell your friends and tell your neighbours…
These sessions are for parents/carers who are planning for their child or children starting school on September 2023. However, if you are a parent who would like to know more about our school then please feel free to join us for these meetings; a creche will be available but needs to be pre-booked with the school office please.
Parent Governors: we are recruiting parents to join our highly able and collegiate team of Governors. Are you interested? Come and speak with me, Mr Vinnicombe or Ms Luxmoore when we’r eon the school gate. We might speak with you too…
Come and join us. Your school needs you!
Robert Vinnicombe: Deputy Headteacher
Homework is now well and truly up and running! A big thank you to all the children for completing their homework and bringing it back to school on time (it is set on a Friday and due back in on a Wednesday). Hopefully, parents now have more of an insight into your children’s learning each week and can help to reinforce this learning. We will be exploring the idea of after school homework clubs after half term, so watch this space… In my assemblies this week I explored some of our school values: co-operation with years 2 and 3 and confidence and celebration with years 4, 5 and 6.
The Friends Of Kender:
Details of the next meeting will be Tuesday 1st November at 5.30pm, at the school. Amongst other things, we will be discussing Film Night on Thursday 20th October and our Winter Fayre on Saturday 3rd December 2022.
