Friday 29th April 2022
Dear Mums, Dads and Carers,
Nursery closure: we have had notice from the Local Authority that they will be using our Nursery for polling on Thursday 5th May 2022. Nursery therefore will be closed that day.
Dates over the Summer Term: I will include some key dates across this term at the end of each newsletter.
Training for Governor at Kender: our annual training for governors was able to resume this year with Lewisham Learning providing training on how governors can become more effective in supporting the school, whilst holding school leaders to account for their work. We will be working on a governors visits policy to ensure governors are more visible around the school and make more regular planned visits.
Initial feedback has described the training as ‘excellent’.
Development work this summer: we will be undertaking lot of development work this summer term and through the holidays too. Over the last couple of years, for obvious reasons associated with the pandemic, it has been impossible to complete all of the improvement tasks we’ve wanted to get done.
I’ll provide more information about these Saturday mornings, or maybe afternoons, nearer the time, the dates will be: 11th, 18th and 25th June.
MHST: The Mental Health Support Team will be in school offering drop in sessions for parents and carers. These run fortnightly and the next will be on Wednesday 11th May, from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.
INSET day closure: we have had notice that we have not used our full allocation of INSET days from last year and have added a new date for our staff training on 8 July 2022. We will use this day partly to prepare for our first Kenderbury International for two years. More news on this to follow!
