Friday 20th May 2022
Dear Mums, Dads and Carers,
Jubilee Day Tea Party: on Friday 27th May at 3.30pm we will host a tea party for all at Kender in our main hall. We need your help to bake, bake, bake….
Cakes, biscuits and other treats would be very much welcomed. If you are able to bake for this event please bring your baking to school either on Thursday 26th May or on the morning of Friday 27th May.
On Friday children can wear Red, White and Blue or a National dress/suit/clothes of their choice.
International Festival: Friday 8th July. All children have been handed fliers. Put this on your fridge or noticeboard. Save the date and look out for more information week-by-week. It’s going to be an amazing event!
Year two SATs: children in year two will complete their KS1 assessments over the next two weeks; one week has been completed and well done to them all…so far…
Afro Hair Exhibition: the exhibition will be open again this afternoon when school finishes, from 3.30 to 4.30pm; please come along if you did not get to see it on Wednesday.
A few comments from those who visited on Wednesday:
‘Thank you for an interesting exhibition’
‘We learned a lot about the culture and when barber shops started’
‘Very interesting!’
‘Really interesting exhibition.’
‘It is really nice and I have done some of the styles’.
Development work this summer: we will be undertaking lot of development work this summer term and through the holidays too. Over the last couple of years, for obvious reasons associated with the pandemic, it has been impossible to complete all of the improvement tasks we’ve wanted to get done.
I’ll provide more information about these Saturday mornings, or afternoons, nearer the time, the dates will be: 11th, 18th and 25th June.
INSET day closure: we have had notice that we have not used our full allocation of INSET days from last year and have added a new date for our staff training on Friday 8 July 2022. We will use this day partly to prepare for our first International Festival for two years. More news on this to follow!
Dates over the Summer Term: I will include some key dates across this term at the end of each newsletter.
