Dear Mums, Dads and Carers,
Newsletter: this will be the last newsletter of this year. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support and patience this year. It has been a very difficult year for managing and running a school. Yet, you have been so supportive and helpful with all that we’ve tried to do for the children.
The children have been amazing and have settled so well into full time school since September. We are looking forward to another uninterrupted and busy term in January.
When the break does arrive, I wish you all a very happy Christmas, and please accept my best wishes for safe and healthy 2022.
Please note the dates for when children can return to school, which are at the bottom of this newsletter.
Carol Concert: our annual carol concert will go live for all families to watch from Wednesday lunchtime. I’m looking forward to seeing it and have enjoyed hearing the children sing and perform.
Class Parties: children will have class parties next week. Parents if you are able to offer some food for these parties the children would be very grateful. Please send your contribution in with your child on Monday.
Teachers will remind the children in their class too.
Children can wear own clothes on their party day or bring in party clothes - some teachers have already sent out messages to this effect.
Post Box: the box will go up on Monday. Children can bring Christmas cards for their friends and pop these in the post box. Their teachers will give them time to put their cards in the box. Yr6 will be delegated as Kender Posties
Travel Abroad:
If families are planning to travel abroad over the Christmas break, please inform the school as soon as possible. We need to know dates and destinations of all planned foreign travel.
Trial iPads: as a component of our evolving Digital Learning Strategy, children in Year 6 are trialling taking their iPads home at weekends and over the half-term holiday.
We will extend this to all children for the Christmas break. A form will be emailed out to all parents asking if you require your child to bring their iPad home over the break. Please complete this asap and those children who will take home their iPads will do so on Thursday 16th December.
All iPads will need to be brought back to school on Thursday 6th January 2022.
Parents’ Evenings: thank you for your attendance at Parents’ Evening. These are such important opportunities to discuss the progress children are making.
If you missed your appointment this week teachers will contact, you. We aim for 100% of parents to have had a progress meeting with their child’s class teacher.
Mathletics: Thank you all for the big push with Mathletics over the last few weeks. The usage was up massively, and the children seem to have loved using it.
All children have logins.
Awards have been bought and these will be given out each week for children to keep in class. They will also be given a certificate and be reported in the newsletter.

The Friends Of Kender:
Friends of Kender will be providing biscuits and decorations to each class so each child at Kender can decorate a biscuit to take home and then at the end of the day we shall be providing warm (I hope) mince pies, which will be handed out at the end of the day on Wednesday 15th December.
We are as disappointed as you shall be with the changes, we have had to make but ultimately, we want the children, parents and staff to be safe and well :)
If anyone has any ideas on events, you’d like to see at Kender please use the Friends of Kender email
