Dear Mums, Dads and Carers,
Tea Party
Join us after school this evening!
We’ll be in the playground and the main hall, from 3.30 until 5.00pm. Tea, coffee and cake available for all. Be great to mix and have a chat at the start of the school year.
Representatives from Caterlink will be there to talk to you about their menus and dishes.
If you have made cakes please bring these to the main office before 3.00pm.
Fire Drill
Each term we conduct a fire drill. We plan these for different times of the school day to ensure we consider all aspects of site safety. I am pleased to inform you that everyone evacuated the building safely in under four minutes.
Apologies to those mums and dads who did come to the school office at this time, as there was nobody there to answer the doorbell. Thank you for your understanding.
Beach visits
I have thanked all school staff for the resilience and energy in putting on the visits to Westgate Bay. It was so disappointing for children to have this opportunity postponed in July. From talking to them, they’ve had a fabulous time in September instead.
Although, I’m not sure if there’s much sand left in Kent this weekend…
School Streets
Our School Street will start from Monday 1st November. Works to the street will happen during half-term and then our new safer and quieter street will be operating from Monday after half-term break.
See the signs and the school website for more detail.
Open Morning
Next Wednesday we host our first Open Morning of the year. This is primarily for parents thinking about applying for their child to start in Reception from September 2022. However, if you do know of neighbours, family or friends whose child does not have a place at a primary school, or you know of people who have just moved into the area, please let them know about this event.
School census takes place on 7th October and any children who do join us before this date contribute to the budget we receive from next April.
Attendance:
Attendance has dropped this week. We made an excellent start to the new term so let’s continue that trend with al children in school and accessing their learning next week.
Attendance this week: Well done to Year 2 the highest this week!
