To mark 100 years since Armistice Day and the end of the First World War we are taking part in an art project alongside the nationwide Pages of the Sea project directed by Danny Boyle.  We plan to make an artwork at the riverside in Deptford on the morning of 12 November.  The children will build cairns to commemorate the lives lost using colourful stones which have been eroded by the river over time.  The cairns will be designed and erected by the children whilst the tide is out and will then be washed away as the tide comes in.  If any Kender families have relatives who took part in the World Wars please get in touch so that we can commemorate their bravery!
